In 2022, I wrote an essay that investigates Jaqueline de la Baume Durrbach's tapestry copy of Guernica, which was commissioned by Nelson A. Rockefeller after Picasso refused to sell him the original painting. I became interested in the tapestry after Rockefeller's grandson ordered its removal from the walls of the United Nations in New York without offering an explanation why.
